Shabbat Mode — Privacy Policy

Overview

Shabbat Mode ("the App") is developed by Anirudh Kannan ("I", "me"). I take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data I Collect

I do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The App has no user accounts, no server or backend, and no analytics service operated by me. All app data (your selected apps, preferences, and settings) is stored locally on your device and is never sent anywhere.

Location Data

The App uses your device's location to calculate accurate candle lighting and Havdalah times for your area. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Apple StoreKit — handles all in-app purchase and subscription transactions. Payment information is processed entirely by Apple and is never accessible to me. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Superwall — manages paywall presentation and subscription status. Superwall collects device-level data such as device model, OS version, app install date, paywall view events, and purchase events. This data is used for paywall optimization and A/B testing. Superwall does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name or email. See Superwall's Privacy Policy.

Notifications

If you grant permission, the App sends local notifications (e.g., Friday reminders before Shabbat). These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since the App collects no personal data from any user, no special provisions are necessary.

Data Deletion

Since no personal data is collected or stored on any server, there is nothing to delete. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device. To manage or cancel subscriptions, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device.

Religious Disclaimer

This app is a tool to assist with Shabbat observance. It should not be relied upon as the sole source for Shabbat times or halachic decisions. Always verify times with a trusted religious authority or established source.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
